Patient Services

Clinical Care

Using a team approach, pediatricians at the Diabetes Center of Excellence see patients on Wednesday afternoons and Friday mornings in the pediatric specialty clinic on the second floor of the Shands Medical Plaza. The clinic is staffed by a nurse specialist, dietician, psychologist and pharmacist and provides a multidisciplinary approach to addressing young patients' needs and the needs of their circle of support. Close follow-up is provided by telephone consultation and patients are encouraged to be involved in their own care as much as appropriate. Patients must be referred to clinic by their primary physician or Children's Medical Services.

To make a follow-up appointment, call (352) 265-8250.

To refer a patient, fax consult and records to (352) 334-1325.
